Warning ….. Stephen J. Brightman!
The Grand Hotel in Hartlepool had a visit from the professor yesterday when he entertained 7 young guests in the Jackson Room. I set off at 9 o’clock in the morning for the 5 hour trip and spent all day bringing a touch of magic to Swanston Street, ready for the evening start at 8 o’clock!
At 11 o’clock in the evening the party was over and everything had been packed away in my room. At half past midnight there was a knock at the door and the night porter, Stephen J. Brightman, a fully paid up member of the awkward squad, woke me up to announce that my dog was not allowed in the room, despite having been in the hotel all day and performing for our young guest wizards.
Overcome by his wit and charm, I was left with no alternative but to pack everything into my car and set off at half past one in the morning for a sleepless 5 hour trip through the night, arriving home at dawn. I have contacted the hotel manager, Craig, and have been offered an apology and a thoughtful cash offer for compensation which I shall forward to our local animal shelter!
I think this young man deserves to be head boy of one of our houses …. I’ll let you guess which one!
Alice’s 6th birthday party!
Thanks to Alice’s mum for the following email ….
“Dear Professor, thank you so much for giving Alice and her friends the most fantastic afternoon. We had high expectations but your party exceeded them. Not only did you engage with Alice, the birthday girl, whilst you diligently set everything up at our house but you were very generous with your time – we have never entertained an entertainer for so many hours with such ease – and your performance and party patter was outstanding. It was a truly special, magical and hugely enjoyable afternoon. We cannot thank you enough. Catherine.”
Aiden’s 5th Birthday brings Magic to Manuden Village!
Wizarding congratulations must go to Aiden’s grandma, Sally, who spent so much time with the professor when she helped prepare Manuden Village Community Centre. It looked superb as dad, Sir Rod Stewart, arrived with mum, sporting her witch’s hat. They arrived with 5 year old Aiden dressed as the boy wizard with his elder brother, Alexander! Aiden made a big impression with his knowledge of all things magical and sent this reply to his “witch and wizard” birthday card …… “Thank you. I had a very good party. All my friends loved it. Aiden.”
Hammy’s Party in Ringwood!
It was a real pleasure to meet you last week & I cannot say thank you enough for making Hamilton’s (aka our little wizard in the making) dreams come true. We loved seeing the big smile on his face playing Witches and Wizards with his friends & how you kept their attention with your fantastic performance. The parents were so impressed with the way you transformed our party lounge & your enthusiasm. Hamilton wanted to thank you too for the best party ever & for the special birthday present you gave him. Here is his message …… Dani, James, Azalea and Hammy
